Claymation Reflection Essay.

For the first part of the school year we were assigned to make a claymation. We went to the library in Langley and got books on the explorer we wanted to learn more about. Our task was to attempt to make little clay people and have them move across the screen. But not with a Video camera, just a camera. Moving the clay people very slowly around to make an attempt at producing a claymation.

The most fun that I had making this claymation was taking the pictures and putting them together in iMovie. I like taking pictures and this was fun. As your putting the pictures on the computer you get to slowly watch it come together. At first I thought it was not going to work out but it became second nature day after day and week after week. I also liked putting them together on the computer. It was fun trying to put them together and making it fast and sleek. After taking pictures and loading them onto the computer it was fun having to do all the finishing touches. We made a beginning picture, credits, and added sound and music. Before we started the claymation we made a map and put that into the movie. Making the map was another fun part because we got to find out where exactly Columbus went and how many voyages he went on.

The least fun thing that I did was making the outline. Before we were allowed to start making our claymation hands on we had to make a big, detailed outline of everything that was going to happen in our claymation. I don't like drawing, more like I can't and I don't like writing. It turned out "okay" you could say but the first time we turned it in we got 27 out of 60. Mr. B said that it wasn't detailed enough and we didn't have enough information on it. We perfected the map as much as we could and got a much better grade on it. The other thing i didn't like about making the claymation was that we didn't have enough space to take pictures and work on the computer. We made it work but it would have gone a lot faster if one person could have been taking pictures and another person could have been editing the pictures. Over all everything was pretty good except sometimes we wouldn't have enough time to edit the video and take pictures so we turned in some of the scenes a day late. Also I thought that taking pictures would be easy but it was pretty hard. You had to keep the camera from moving, move the people a very small amount, and make sure to not knock anything over.

I learned a lot from making this claymation. I learned to work better with people and use other peoples ideas. I thought it was good to learn to use new programs more and be more compatible with what other people wanted. At first I thought this was going to be impossible and it would never get done. After making the third or forth scene in two weeks I realized that it was hard work but it was not impossible. I am glad that we didn't have any problems like people deleting our claymation or people deleting the voice recordings. It was a good learning experience and being able to learn more about using computers better. It was good to have patience and knowing that you have to wait a while to get what you want. It was better to be in a room that there werent a lot of people. It helped a lot with recording the voice becase there wasn't anyone around, talking or making noise.

This was a fun project. I liked working on putting everything together and putting all the finishing touches on the claymation. It was a fun porject and I liked doing it. It was fun and I learned a lot from it. I hope that later in the year we do other projects like this one!

Road Trip

Last year my family and i went on a road trip in our motor home across the country, over the summer and part of the school year. We left a week after school got out and started the three month trip. We started following Canada's border for a while then went into Canada and saw Niagara Falls. After that our big stop was Maine and we stayed there with my moms good friends for a couple days. We next went down through New York Our next big stop was in Washington DC we stayed in Maryland for a week with my moms friends. We got to take a tour of the White House and got to go in secret tunnels under ground that the president uses to get around the White House. Some of the tunnels left the White House and went to other parts of Washington DC to other important buildings. We went to Colorado and saw my friend Forrest's band play at the Boulder Theater after that we went to New Mexico and saw my moms friends that used to live on Whidbey. We stayed in New Mexico for only three days but i had a lot of fun. We then we to the Grand Canyon and stayed there for only three nights it was REALLY cold there and they didn't have any camp sites with electrical so we didn't have any heat in the RV and it was about 35 deg outside. We went to California for my birthday and stayed with my Aunt in Yucca Valley. After that we came back to Whidbey on the 30th. Right before holloween

Walker's Adventures #1

On Saturday I wanted to do something fun so me and a Friend decided we were going to go to Oak Harbor. We left and took a bus from Langley to Oak Harbor... This was one of the longest bus rides i have ever been on. It was over and hour and a half long... There was a guy next to us on the bus and he was sleeping but in his back pocket was a knife... My friends got scared and i just laughed! We watched movies and laughed. Finally when we got to Harbor Station, an hour and a half later we were really hungry and we have ten minutes to spare till the bus to "Deception Pass" came... We walked to Whidbey's Coffee thinking of getting some food but they "cripple" that was working was taking the logiest time to make food and drinks. So we got some coffee and left running for the bus... We got on the bus to Deception Pass when it was about 3:30 it took the bus another half hour to get to Deception Pass when the bus never actually got to deception pass because no buses ever went to the bridge we decided we were going to catch a bus back home. The map said that the last bus home was at 4:30... It was 4pm now and we were 30 min from the station... Lucky the bus we were on turned into the bus back to Langley so we were not going to miss the last bus after all and have to stay in oak harbor over night . When we got back we didn't have a way to get to my house from Langley, and it started to rain really hard... We talk the mile to my house in the pouring rain and finally at around 5:30 got home from our long and pointless trip to Deception Pass.

Stupidness...

So in this post i am going to talk about how stupid i am! This should be good... Okay for starters when i was 5 i saw the glow of the flames under the stove and thought it would be cool to put my hands in the flames... I put my hand on the stove and got a really bad burn you can still kind of see. Also i am REALLY bad at math. I was working on a homework assignment a couple years ago and i forgot how to multiply, the problem was 9x4. I want to major and business so it will be a lot of work to try to get good grades in math so i can get into business school. Another thing i did was i was 9 and i found a tree in the backyard i didn't like and i wanted to cut it down... My parents were gone and thought it would be fun! I got the latter out and started to cut the base of the tree... The grass around the tree was not flat and i had to hold the tree as i cut so the latter wouldn't fall over. I got tired and let go of the tree and the latter fell and i fell with it, into the deck hitting my head really bad. I really wanted my dad to be happy so i got up put some paper towel on my hands and finished cutting the tree. The last stupid thing i am going to talk about is this. I was at my neighbors house and she wanted me to help her make a salad, remember i was only 7. I was cutting away at the lettuce and i slipped and cut my thumb. I didn't want me neighbor to know so i quickly said "i have to go!" and left. i got home and i looked at my thumb and it was hanging off the end of my finger. I started screaming and my mom had to take me to the hospital.

Comments

So everyone i think you should comment my blog. I am in Snelling's room watching movies and i am pretty bored, everyone's yelling and its funny! So I don't have a lot of comment and I think you need to comment this because if your reading this you are probably bored because this is a really boring post so basically your bored, right? Well since you are you need to comment some of my posts or tell me what other types of posts I should write because I need ideas! I am watching this video about "TED" i guess its called and its about little 2 year old kids making toys and wow... its really funny! This random kid just jumped off of the top bunk bed... But hes talking about raising kids so they don't die from little things before they become old! Wait... never mind he just said for kids to play with fire!!! So maybe he wants kids to die... I don't know but when my parents would leave I would play with fire!!! One time i was playing with the stove and I figured how to lite it and i put my hand on it and got a 2nd deg burn... But this video we just watched this crazy guy decided to swallow a sword... Looks cool and would be fun to do but if you did it wrong it would probably hurt a little... But back to the main thing. You should comment my blog because i am bored and comments are awesome!!! If you comment mine i comment yours good deal? Yup! Ok so COMMENT A POST!!!

Life Graph numba 2

So in my first post i wrote about cracking my head open. In this post I am going to write about my dad teaching my to drive! When i was about 7 or 8 my dad would let me shift the car for him when we were driving or sometimes steer. When I was 9 he let me sit on his lap and drive around the cemetery or our driveway. At first I didn’t really get driving the stick shift I was able to push the gas and break and my dad would shift for me. After a couple months of that I figured out how to shift and push the clutch in at the same time. I did that for about a year or two but when I was 11 I wasn’t able to sit on my dads lap anymore so he would let me sit in the drivers seat and drive up and down our road. Now he lets me drive around the new development and the cemetery. But I can’t wait till i get my license and can drive wherever I want!

This is the car I want to get when i turn 16 - a Toyota 4runner - Lifted!

Wildhorse Canyon

This summer my friends and I went to a camp in Oregon called Wild horse Canyon. This was probably the most fun trip i have been on. We had to take a eight hour bus ride from Clinton to the Camp on the way there I got dehydrated and threw up, luckily we were only a few miles away from Olympia! When we got to the camp over eight miles from a town with a population of 33 people we were greeted with the whole camp staff and music! At the camp there was a swimming pool, Lake, Sports Center, Soccer field, Football field, The Blob, and a bunch of other fun things! Most of the time we were in the pool because it was about 85 deg outs every day! On the second day we made a spot on the grass that we just would sit in till it was lunch or dinner time. That's when i met my friend Ryan hes probably one of the coolest people ever and he would just hang out with random people at camp. The picture on here is one from camp. Every night after cabin time they would call us down to a late night party. The first night we got to go to a carnival at the camp. We played game and when you got enough tickets you could go over to the dunk tank and dunk your leader. But this picture is from the 3rd night and we had a late night pool party, it was really fun! This was the best part of my summer and i am going to go back to Wild horse next summer!

This is our group photo with everyone from Whidbey that went to the camp there were a total of 900 people at the camp and our group was about 60 people! I think if you click on the picture it will make it bigger.

A Little About My Life Graph

So lets stat at the beginning in my Life Graph. When i was about 6 months old my dad finished building our house that I still live in to this day. The fist big thing that happened to me what i got dropped when i was about 9 months old my mom was walking down our drive way and slipped and fell because it was icy. I broke my left toe because of that... The next big thing that i remember was cracking my head open. My aunt had just got here from England where she lived and i had not seen her in a long time and i was really excited and running around the living room... After about 10 minutes of that i got tired so i stopped but i was REALLY dizzy and started wobbling and i fell over into the fireplace hitting my head on the top of it. My mom started freaking out because i was screaming and my head was bleeding everywhere my dad works for the hospital and he was at work. My mom didn't know what to do so she got a roll of duck tape and taped my head up till the ambulance came. Once i got to the hospital i was there for about four hours laying in a bad reading "Where is Waldo" after like ten minutes they drugged me up and i was out, the last thing i remember was when i got home and still i have the stitch marks on my four head.

The next big thing "to me" in my life was my dad teaching me to drive his car. When i was 7 i learned how to drive the stick shift and my dad would let me sit on his lap and drive down our driveway.

I will post more on my Life Graph if anyone wants... I didn't know what else to write about but i hope it was decent!
